H2O develops investment opportunities at all stages from small-scale pilot funding through to multi-million dollar late-series investment rounds. We naturally welcome interest from individuals and institutional investors who are interested in making equity investments in for-profit enterprises with a strong social mission as well as financial returns.
We pride ourselves that the extended effort we invest in developing our businesses allows us to attract world class managers to them, and we are always keen to hear from talented entrepreneurial managers with the necessary skills and ambition to develop our investee companies. As much as the finance, it is the quality of our CEOs and senior management teams that makes the difference between success and failure. If you have a strong commercial track record, particularly in the delivery of complex businesses in challenging markets, and are motivated also by our social mission, please contact us.
The ambitious social enterprises that we develop deliver impact, build entrepreneurial capacity and lead economic development by example. For donors and their partners looking to develop programs for SME-led private sector development, or to convert individual projects into profitable long-term enterprises; for research funders who feel their investment is not achieving its potential impact – H2O can help.
We get involved pre-business plan in the development of raw business ideas without a developed plan or management team. We do not invest in established businesses and will not consider unsolicited business plans. However, H2O welcomes approaches from NGOs and academic researchers with new technologies or novel insights into market needs in our sectors of interest. We are also interested in discussing with existing companies the potential for commercialising their products, technology and IP in our target markets.
We are able to offer a limited number of three-month internships each year, and we truly value the energy and ambition that you can introduce to our teams. These are unpaid roles, but we may cover expenses for non-UK posts. In exchange, you will get a chance to make a genuine, hands-on contribution to the work we are doing on the ground.
