Our process starts with insights into market need, but with a strategic focus on issues affecting the poor. These insights are generated through working closely with our knowledge partners in a given sector. For example, we work with world-class, not-for-profit healthcare providers to identify areas of unmet clinical need affecting poor people in India, while our partnership with the DFID-RIU Programme and its close links to UK-funded research allows us to identify market opportunities that will benefit small-holder farmers in East Africa. By starting with unmet need at the bottom of the pyramid, we are able to actively identify potential solutions and develop the commercial rationale to pull the best of these through to market.
